In Ding Yi’s view, the canvas is not a screen, but a limited three-dimensional matrix space. Born in Shanghai in 1962, he is one of the most distinguished artists in the field of global abstract art today. More than 30 years of his creation, the exploration of ‘+, cross-stitching’ becomes his most iconic symbol interpreted in his artistic language.
Abstract Art from Piet Mondrian and Wassily Kandinsky developed over a century, and it has emerged lots of prominent artists in the peak of each era.
